Passenger vehicle regulations are designed to benefit the consumer and also to protect the environment, and automakers can face stiff fines and other penalties if they are not followed. Nevertheless it creates creativity from the OEM in imparting designs that follow the regulations. These regulations also has a big impact on the OEM as it affect automakers bottom line, causing more money for research and development (R&D).

This paper was presented during International Applied Vibration Conference 2019 (IAViC2019) which was held on 13-14th November 2019 at Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
